BioLive-CD is a integrated software workbench for bioinformatics and computational biology. It is a remastered version of BELENIX 0.4 bioinformatics applications. Bio-Live CD consists of complete operating environment based on Solaris platform and K Desktop Environment. With additional feature of Solaris like ZFS,DTrace (Dynamic Tracing Framework useful to understand operating system) Zones (Multiple application can run in isolation) ,SMF( Service Management Framework for handling dependencies ).It is independent of host operating system. It may provide a ad-hoc solution where no Solaris is installed.
Thus it provides a integrated workbench for bioinformatics and computational biology without installing these software’s on system. These applications range from sequence analysis, profiles analysis, structural analysis and visualization.
